WooHoo... I made it with my first post and wow have I been itching to write and share with you all.

First, welcome to my musings about lots of topics. I'll begin this blog as the crazy dog lady I am!

I grew up in an petless home, much to my dismay. For years, I begged my parents for a dog, but it did not work. My dad was afraid of dogs and my mom was not having it. Also, my brother was allergic (insert eye roll). My parents divorced when I was twelve, so I tried the guilt route with my mom. NOPE. My brother Justin was allergic. Period. Funny how he now lives with dogs, but I digress.

Fast forward... I moved to Atlanta in 1995. My "allergic" brother lived in the heart of the South and encouraged me to make the move. We were roomies for years. I regularly begged him to let me get a dog and graciously offered to administer the required monthly shot in his ass to manage his allergies. It did not work and I did not stop offering my services. Finally, when Justin became engaged, he gave me the thumbs-up to get a dog and I've been collecting them like salt and pepper shakers since.

I started a blog years ago documenting my life as a new DogMa. I started it after getting my first fur baby, Blu. I will be sharing some of those "vintage" writings here. I also invite you to pop-over to my facebook page Sleeps With Dogs. Take aglance when you have a chance and be sure to follow. I created it to share my dogs' photos with family/friends and it's grown into a sweet, fun community of pet owners.
